Robert Andrews will be appointed as the new Head Football Coach at Euclid High School.
Coach Andrews was previously the head coach at James Rhodes High School in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District since 2017. As the head coach at Rhodes, Andrews led the Rams to their first ever playoff game in 2021, after a 6-2 season. Coach Andrews was named Senate League Coach of the Year twice during his tenure at Rhodes, once in 2016 and again in 2021. During the 2021 season Coach Andrews coached the first ever All-Ohio player in Rhodes history.
Prior to being the head coach at Rhodes, Andrews was an assistant at Glenville High School, serving as the defensive coordinator for two state championship teams in 2009 and 2013. While at Glenville, Andrews was also the sprints coach for the Tarblooders track team. He coached his teams to six state championships on the track including 5 consecutive state titles from 2003-2007. Andrews also coached at Warren Harding, Warren JFK, and Bedford.
During his coaching tenure, Andrews has coached over 100 student athletes that have gone on to receive college scholarships. Of those students he has coached 28 athletes that have earned spots on NFL rosters.
Andrews began his coaching career after earning a football scholarship to play at Eastern Kentucky University. After graduating from EKU, Andrews was signed by the Detroit Lions in the NFL and later the Montreal Machine of NFL Europe. Andrews then joined Jim Tressel's coaching staff in 1991 at Youngstown State University and won a national championship with the Penguins that same year.
Andrews is currently an Intervention Specialist in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Andrews runs an annual youth football camp for inner city youth as well as a legends camp with the Cleveland Browns. He has also partnered with Jarvis Landry for the Cystic Fibrosis Camp in 2018. Andrews is also involved in programs such as "Play it Smart" and the "Fellowship of Christian Athletes". He is also the owner and founder of Speed-n-Skillz Sports Performance and Skills Enhancement.
